it hurts to be here

my two cents

I don’t know if anybody is gonna read this, but I just thought I’d like to share some brain fart.

this is just a rant, but I want to congratulate the people that are graduating high school this year and going into college. I’m not saying that I know all about college. It’s a continuous struggle and I’m still learning about myself, which is why I’d like to share where I am right now.

but for anyone who regards my posts as worthy to read (hehe), I just want to say that this fresh start is an awesome opportunity to be careful on how you treat people. You’re building a whole new identity at a place that has no background on who you are. You make who you are. How you treat people, how you act, people are going to be quick in making judgments about you. The idea of a fresh start sounds intriguing, but it also has its dangers. The people you surround yourself with could be the people that you’ll graduate with and even keep in touch with after college. Choose your friends wisely and for the sisters, create a sisterhood that benefits you and encourages you to reach for your goals.

the first year can be the hardest or easiest year depending on how you are right now. Sometimes meeting new people can get you so excited that you forget to watch yourself, and you end up trusting the wrong people and saying a little too much information that shouldn’t be said. Be cautious and let the real friends stand out.

Academically, work hard and stay humble.

Spiritually, it’s tough being alone and away from a youth group. When you join a church, some people will have different beliefs and standards than you. You might feel discouraged or maybe that church might be better! but ground your faith and know that it comes from God and don’t depend your faith on a church.

These are some of the things I’ve learned and wanted to rant about. To sum this up, it’s a dog eat dog world. If you show that you’re vulnerable, people will take advantage. don’t start with arrogance, but be humble and cautious of your surroundings. don’t engage too passionately in something you might regret in the future.

also, failures are a blessing too.
